【It seems that...構文】

「・・・のようである」という意味は、＜It seems that...＞という構文を使って表す。この＜It seems that...＞という形は頻繁に使われるので、これを第何文型などと無理に分類してしまうよりも、このまま一つの慣用表現として覚えておくほうがよい。

　　・It seems that this theory is widely accepted.（この理論は広く受け入れられているようだ）

【発展】
①「・・・のようである」の、＜It seems that...＞と同じ意味を＜It appears that...＞で表すこともできる。しかし、形容詞のapparentを使った＜It is apparent that...＞という表現は、「・・・であるのは明らかである」という意味しか表さない。

②It seems that he is tired.（彼は疲れているようだ）は、He seems to be tired.という形に置き換えられる。He seems that...という英語はない。

　　

＜It seems that...＞の否定形には、＜It seems that～not...＞と、＜It doesn't seem that...＞の二つの形がある。後者のほうが多いとされているが、前者も使われる。
　　・It seems that this theory is not widely accepted.
　　・It doesn't seem that this theory is widely accepted.
　　　（この理論は広く受け入れられてはいないようだ）
